The increased awareness of the development of intellectual properties
at University of Kansas has motivated a number of KU employees to begin
thinking about starting a business, perhaps one based on an intellectual
property created in their laboratory. University of Kansas Center for
Research (KUCR) does have procedures in place that will allow a KU
employee to start a company and avoid conflicts of interests that could
impact a professional career.

It is the responsibility of the employee to ascertain that all appropriate
